We had heard already that Bali and in particular Canggu was the chosen place for nomads around the world. This became instantly clear when we were on our way to our hotel in Canggu. Suddenly the stores and restaurants became more hipster and the local warungs (restaurants) slowly disappeared to give way to very refined establishments filled with European foods. Apparently, these nomads were not satisfied with the wilderness and spirituality of the island but also wanted all the comforts from back home.

Typical office style for the digital nomad... not bad.

When we arrived at the hotel, which was amazing, we instantly noticed people working. For the first time we could see this creature up close: the digital nomad. Many of them worked for companies related to digital marketing or other technology related things, which usually can be done remotely and there were even some that had their own businesses or ambitious new projects. And today I am going to tell you one of them.

One night we were having dinner with the view when some nice French guys started to talk with us. One of them started to make small talk. The usual: where are you from? What do you do?  That is when he told us what he was planning.

Typical digital nomad breakfast. Amazing.

His idea was to create a collection of art with NFT, which for those not familiar with it is proof of ownership of something digital (explanatory video). But not just another NFT that has nothing to do with whoever buys it like the famous monkeys but instead a piece of art that would be in sync with your spiritual self.

Of course, if I were my normal self, I would have started to poke holes in that idea but no. Now I am Miguel de Bali, a harmonious spirit in one with nature. And so, the idea seamed fenomenal. Even better when he told us that he was planning to build an actual temple whose ownership would be spread among those who possess those pieces of art (by the way he told us he got an actual monk to design those pieces😲) i got even more excited.

Pitching my business idea to a potential investor to become a digital nomad.

So here is a true digital nomad. And I can speak for Patrycja and myself when I say this: we wish you good luck Monsieur.
